The starting point of this conference is the\u00a0constant challenges that our planet is facing<\/strong>: climate change, irresponsible exploitation of resources, rising temperatures and water levels, pollution, decreasing biodiversity, the current pandemic of COVID-19, etc.<\/p>\n In this context,\u00a0Education for Sustainable Development<\/strong>\u00a0(ESD) is essential to ensure that people have the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes to address them. Education will be the tool that will help us transform our societies, so ESD becomes a key factor in tackling these problems successfully.<\/p>\n Professor\u00a0Daniel Burgos<\/a>, Vice-Rector for International Research at the\u00a0Universidad Internacional de La Rioja (UNIR<\/a>) and Director of the\u00a0Research Institute for Innovation & Technology in Education (UNIR iTED<\/a>), will participate as Director of the\u00a0UNESCO Chair on eLearning<\/a>, in a special live session on Monday 17 May at 5:30 pm CET, entitled:\u00a0UNESCO Chairs for a Sustainable Future<\/a>.
