UNIR participates in the event ‘Artificial Intelligence applied to the classroom’

Last 21st January, UNIR participated in the XI session of the Innovation and Excellence Club of ACADE (Private Education Association). The event, which took place in Madrid premises of Immune Institute Technology, focused on the application of Artificial Intelligence in the Classroom, which constitutes a key area of IBM-UNIR Chair on Data Science in Education.

Pablo Moreno-Ger, director of the Chair, presented the foundations of Artificial Intelligence, explaining the key concepts and describing its main features. Furthermore, he described UNIR collaboration with Colegios Ramon y Cajal, based on the use of advanced analysis and data visualization techniques aiming to improve the support process to the students.

Jose Carlos San Jose, Head of ICT Development of UNIR iTed, explained in his talk the concept of intelligent games, describing as an example the gamified experience developed in Keystone Project. UNIR participates in the project contributing with the technical knowledge to develop the ICT tools used in the project.

The session finalized with a practical workshop about Artificial Intelligence, organized by IBM.

In summary, the event succeeded in resolving concerns related to the Artificial Intelligence, such as what, why, when and how to apply it in the educational centres.
