Dai Griffiths (Senior researcher)

He is an arts graduate, who in the 1990’s became fascinated by early Macs and the emerging internet. Since then he has worked in educational technology as a researcher and teacher, and project manager, seeking to understand the relationship between people and computers. In 2008 he was awarded a doctorate from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, under the Direction of Josep Blat. He has been active in the cybernetics community for many years, which continues to be a source of insight in his work. At the University of Bolton, he was Professor at the Institute for Educational Cybernetics, a member of Jisc Cetis, and also led research and graduate studies in the Department of Education. He has published extensively, with a particular focus on cybernetics, learning design, and learning analytics. In 2018 he received the Martin Wolpers award for lifetime achievement in eLearning. He is an associate member of Cetis LLP.
