Project COMPETE!
The project COMPETE!: COMPETences for Effective labour markeT Entry!, started in October 2019, is funded by the Erasmus+ call, KA2 “Cooperation for Innovation and Exchange of Good Practice in Strategic Partnerships for Higher Education”.
Coordinated by the Italian institution Demetra Formazione, the project has a duration of 30 months, ending in March 2022. It involves a total of 9 partners from 6 European countries, experts in different fields of activity of the project, representing companies, universities and public authorities.
COMPETE! aims to develop competences in recent graduates in order to increase their socio-educational and personal development, on the one hand, and their employability, on the other. The project involves the creation of a video game that will enable the acquisition of a series of previously identified competences, combining cognitive, methodological, social and digital skills.
COMPETE! includes a first phase of analysis, during which questionnaires and interviews with students and employers are carried out, and a study of existing games on the market is conducted, with the dual objective of identifying key competences and preparing a series of recommendations and features for the design of the video game. In addition, a user manual will be prepared for teachers, educators and researchers.
UNIR participates in the project collaborating in all the work packages, and, given its extensive experience in the area, leading the design and development of the video game. The team of researchers from the university participating in the project is multidisciplinary, as it includes staff from the School of Engineering and Technology for the development of the video game, and from the Faculties of Business and Communication, and Social Sciences and Humanities for the identification of competences and instructional design. The project is managed by the Vice-Rectorate for International Projects and the Institute for Educational Research, Innovation and Technology (UNIR iTED).
