Institutional Chairs

In the last few years, the research activity developed by UNIR has been supported by a number of institutional chairs signed between the University and some international and national organisms.

The main objective of this research and knowledge transfer tools coordinated by UNIR Research is to design, to keep, and to foster solid relations between UNIR and other active networks of users and institutions focus on the subject of each chair who allow to improve research, training and dissemination.



UNESCO Chair on eLearning (Paris, France), ICDE Chair in Open Educational Resources (ICDE, Oslo -Norway), and Delegation IITE for Southern Europe and Latam (Institute for Information and Technology in Education (IITE, Moscow –Rusia). The mission of this joint project at UNIR Research is to facilitate the international adoption and improvement of techniques, strategies, methodologies, tools and resources, on Educational Technologies and Open Educational Resources. UNIR wishes to build a bridge between Europe, Latin America and countries from other continents, facilitating cooperation actions in order to create a strong international eLearning team work.Facilitating North-South cooperation, the project fosters the creation, exchange and transfer of eLearning knowledge and good practices, ensuring a broader access to scientific and technical knowledge and its wider dissemination, especially in developing countries.
 IBM azul_ alta_blog IBM-UNIR Chair on Data Science in Education. UNIR-IBM Chair on Data Science in Education aims to foster the study, design, and big volumes of data management. It is focused mainly on the educational process like: improvement of learning performance, methodology and technology innovation and knowledge transfer.
Telefonica-UNIR Chair in Digital Society and Education. UNIR-Telefónica Chair on Digital Society and Education fosters the study, awareness, and research about the digital environment and its impact in Education and Society.Both institutions have experts who join their experience to transfer the outcomes and results produced by the Chair to the public. As well, the Chair aims to disseminate all the features and possibilities that technology provides to the educational process.
 AENOR-logo AENOR-UNIR Chair in Quality and Technology Standards in Certification. The Chair´s main object is to facilitate the training, research, dissemination, standardization in knowledge and abilities about certification and normalization in the Technology and Quality fields.Through the chair, UNIR will implement a number of courses selected by AENOR in the fields of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Engineering.
