HELMeTO 2021
The third edition of the international HELMeTO event will be held on 9-10 September, 2021.
At the moment, this edition will be held in person in Pisa (Italy). However, the organisers will give priority to the health and well-being of the participants, so if the COVID-19 emergency is maintained, it may be held online.
HELMeTO focuses on topics relevant to online higher education: learning methodologies, learning technologies, software, learning outcomes assessment, educational data analysis, learning analytics and educational data mining.
Its main objective is to bring together researchers and practitioners working in distance higher education institutions or studying e-learning methodologies to present and share their research in a multidisciplinary context. The workshop provides a forum for the discussion of new research directions and applications in these fields, where different disciplines can come to efficient common ground.
Participants will have the opportunity to exchange best practices and views on the future of methodologies and technologies in relation to the online teaching-learning process. In addition, special emphasis will be placed on the importance of extracting useful knowledge from data generated in virtual learning environments and on methods to improve the performance of universities themselves.
Two parallel sessions organised along two main axes are included:
- Pedagogy and e-learning methodologies.
- Learning technologies, data analysis and educational big data mining and their applications.
In addition, there are special tracks for particular issues that can be consulted on the event’s website.
