UNIR’s European projects on Deep Tech take part in an international conference on Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity
On 25 April, the Digital4Security, CyberHubs, INCREDIT and ARISA projects were part of the international technology conference UNIR Innovation Day Miami 2024, organised by the International University of La Rioja (UNIR) and MIU-City University Miami, at the Manna Common corporate space in Downtown Miami, Florida.
The speakers at the event included Chema Alonso, a specialist in technological innovation and cybersecurity, Iker Casillas, former elite athlete and founder of the startup Sportboost, and Daniel Burgos, Vice Rector for International Projects at UNIR and Rector of MIU, who led sessions on cybersecurity, AI, training and research.
Daniel outlined the key role of education and research in Deep Tech and used UNIR’s European projects as examples of the need to make deep tech more approachable for both students and educators across Europe, creating more opportunities for students to connect with the deep tech sector, supporting deep-tech start-ups, and driving innovation within the field.
The conference also included presentations on the use and impact of generative AI in the world of cybersecurity, explaining the risks and opportunities of using this technology; alternatives to minimise the time spent on email management and maximise security; and the Sportboots startup, an accelerator and co-investment platform specialising in sport, innovation and technology.
