Mobile Learning Week 2017: Education in emergencies and crises
UNESCO has announced that it will be partnering with UNCHR to organize Mobile Learning Week 2017 under the theme “Education in emergencies and crises”. The event will be held from 20 to 24 March at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.
Millions of people have crossed into Europe since the Syrian conflict increase in violence creating a humanitarian crisis never seen before. The objective of the week is to reflect on how the migrants around the world have dealt with the problem of education on how technology had a role on tackling the problem.
One of the most important days will be the 23th march, when Policy Forum will take place. Its aim is to examine the role policies play in fostering innovation in the education sector and facilitating the use of mobile technology for learning, particularly for vulnerable and displaced populations.
The Forum will bring together ministers of education as well as ministers of ICT to discuss how newly affordable mobile devices can help address urgent educational challenges and meet the needs of students, teachers and administrators. Furthermore, the Forum will also elaborate strategies to create synergies between national policies in the areas of technology, education, telecommunications and innovation.
The Policy Forum will be jointly organized by UNESCO, UNHCR, and ITU, the United Nations specialized agency for information and communication technologies.
Event registration and a call for proposals will open soon. Please check this page for updates.
