Call for the UNESCO-Madanjeet Singh Prize for Tolerance and Non-Violence 2022 is now open

The UNESCO-Mandanjeet Singh Prize for Tolerance and Non-Violence was established in 1995 on the occasion of the United Nations Year for Tolerance and the 125th anniversary of the birth of Mahatma Gandhi. In the same year the member states of UNESCO adopted the Declaration of Principles on Tolerance. It is awarded every two years on the occasion of the International Day for Tolerance (16 November).
This prize is intended to reward activities that have been particularly significant in the fields of science, art, culture or communication in promoting a spirit of tolerance and non-violence. It is endowed with $100,000 (US dollars).
Nominations from Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and qualified personalities should be sent directly to the Secretariat of the Prize for the attention of Ms. Anna Maria Majlöf –tolerance.prize@unesco.org– by 16 June 2022.
