NET4DHE Project: Network for Digital Health Excellence

Digital transformation of the European health system requires strengthening international cooperation, fostering innovation and facilitating knowledge exchange among institutions, health professionals, companies and governments. In the current context, which has been marked by the common challenges in public health, it is essential to foster collaborative environments to allow for the development of coordinated and sustainable solutions at an European scale.

NE4TDHE (Network for Digital Health Excellence) was created with this purpose through the European Digital Health Summit, an event held on December 2025 in Madrid that gathered healthcare professionals, stakeholders and patient associations from different European countries associated to the EU4Health program. The project addresses 4 strategic areas: healthcare systems and work force, a One Health approach, the pharmaceutical sector, and digital transformation in health.

Trought a collaborative and results-oriented methodology, NET4DHE fostered skill development, the sharing of best practices and the development of joint strategies to face the current and future challenges of the European healthcare systems. Moreover, this summit served as a networking platform for European-funded projects, fostering synergies and the implementation of the European Health Union.

NET4DHE contributes to boost more resilient, sustainable, inclusive and human-centered healthcare systems, promoting ethical and digital transformation and aligned with the European health priorities.

Universidad Internacional de La Rioja (UNIR), through the Research Institute UNIR iTED and the Faculty of Health, provide their vast expertise in event organization and hosting and technological innovation in the healthcare field.
