UNIR and Birzeit University launch the Online Teachers training 2020 course

Universidad Internacional de La Rioja (UNIR) and Birzeit University (BZU) are launching the Online Teachers training 2020 course, which will run from the end of September to mid-December and will be directed by Professor Daniel Burgos, PhD, director of the Institute for Educational Research, Innovation and Technology (UNIR iTED).

This course will provide skills and tools to educators who are not very familiar with online work but who need to transfer and adapt their experience to this new methodology.

Through this programme, which lasts about 75 hours (3 ECTS), educators will build a methodological and technological framework that will ease their transition to the online model, as it is based on practical and interactive group and individual activities.

In addition, there will be two live sessions per week, where leading international experts will address the most important topics related to e-Learning. Among them: Professor Dr. Daniel Burgos, María Jesús García San Martín, Natalia Padilla, Alberto Corbí, Pablo Moreno, Khalid Berrada, Richard Tong and Shuai (Sam) Wang.

The contents covered in the course are:

  • Conceptual framework on eLearning.
  • Online education.
  • Online methodologies.
  • Open and online contexts.
  • Personalised support.
  • Technological support.
  • Education and society.

After completing the course, the students that pass it, will acquire the following competences, and will receive the corresponding attesting certificate:

  • Effective use of technology in online environments for better learning and teaching.
  • Effective use of informal and formal online educational resources in combination.
  • Effective use of basic learning analytics to improve the online performance of teachers and learners.
  • Effective use of online methodology and technology to facilitate the implementation of online academic programmes.
