Prevensuix Project: Implementation of Data Mining and Artificial Intelligence in the Prevention of Self-Harm, Suicidal, and Non-Suicidal Behaviors
The prevention of self-harm and suicidal behaviors is one of the major challenges that healthcare systems are currently facing worldwide, particularly in Primary Health Care, where early detection and intervention are essential. In this context, tools such as data mining and artificial intelligence offer new opportunities to improve the identification, assessment, and management of risks.
The PREVENSUIX project, Implementation of Data Mining and Artificial Intelligence in the Prevention of Self-Harm, Suicidal, and Non-Suicidal Behaviors, addresses this need through a collaboration between Fundación Rioja Salud and the International University of La Rioja for the prediction and prevention of self-harm behaviors, both suicidal and non-suicidal. The project is structured around three lines of research:
- The development of a predictive algorithm for suicidal behaviors on social media (INFLUSUIX).
- The refinement of a scale for identifying patients at risk of self-harm (IDENTASUIX).
- The use of a virtual assistant to support healthcare professionals (VIRTUALSUIX).
Through the application of research methodologies, predictive analytics, and innovation, the project will help to improve the ability of healthcare services to anticipate high-risk situations and promote a more preventive and coordinated assistance.
The project is funded by the Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER) under the Program La Rioja FEDER 2021-2027.
This project is being implemented by the Research Institute (UNIR iTED), which is responsible for the design and development of technological applications related to Artificial Intelligence.
